The Milwaukee women's soccer team has received both Horizon League Under Armour Player of the Week awards, according to an announcement from the league office.
Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Bella Hollenbach was named Defensive Player of the Week. Both athletes were key contributors in Milwaukee's recent 1-0 win over Minnesota.
Skinner-Barrett scored the only goal of the match with a header from a corner kick in the 82nd minute. The goal secured a road victory against Minnesota, a team ranked regionally and included in the preseason national Top 25 poll.
Hollenbach recorded eight of her career-high ten saves during the second half, helping maintain Milwaukee's lead as the game neared its conclusion. She currently leads the league with 41 total saves and averages 6.83 saves per game.
These recognitions are the second and third weekly awards for Milwaukee this season. Zoey Pagels was previously named Offensive Player of the Week on August 18.
