Kristina Karlof, a member of the Milwaukee women's soccer team, has been named the Horizon League Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office.
Karlof contributed significantly in Milwaukee's only game of the week, recording two goals and one assist during a 7-0 win over SIUE on Sunday. She assisted on what would become the game-winning goal in the eighth minute and then scored twice in the second half, providing Milwaukee with its fifth and sixth goals of the match.
This recognition marks Karlof's second career Horizon League weekly award. It is also the fourth time this season that a Milwaukee player has received such honors. Previous recipients include Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett and Bella Hollenbach (both awarded on September 8), as well as Zoey Pagels (awarded August 18).
"Karlof played a big role in Milwaukee's lone game of the week, coming through with a five-point outburst (2G/1A) in the 7-0 victory over SIUE Sunday."
"Karlof assisted the eventual game-winner in the eighth minute and then helped the Panthers put the game away with goals in the 50th and 57th minutes to give MKE its fifth and sixth goals on the afternoon."
"The award is the second of her career and the fourth for the team this season, joining Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett (Sept. 8), Bella Hollenbach (Sept. 8), and Zoey Pagels (August 18) as award winners so far this campaign."
