Bella Hollenbach, a member of the Milwaukee women's soccer team, has been recognized as the Horizon League Under Armour Defensive Player of the Week. The league office made this announcement on Monday.
This is Hollenbach's second time receiving this award in the current season, with her previous selection occurring on September 8.
During last week's matches, Hollenbach helped lead Milwaukee to two shutout victories on the road against Robert Morris and Youngstown State. In Thursday's game against Robert Morris, she recorded three saves in a 2-0 win that marked the start of conference play for the Panthers. On Sunday, she again made three important saves as Milwaukee defeated Youngstown State in a matchup between unbeaten teams in conference play.
Hollenbach currently maintains a goals-against average (GAA) of 0.00 through two conference games and has not conceded a goal in over four appearances, accumulating 342 minutes and 14 seconds without allowing an opponent to score.
The program has now received five weekly awards this season. Other honorees include Kristina Karlof (Offensive Player of the Week on September 15), Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett (Offensive Player of the Week on September 8), and Zoey Pagels (Offensive Player of the Week on August 18).
