The Milwaukee Panthers men's cross country team finished second at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran at Greenfield Park in West Allis, Wisconsin, on Saturday. The team accumulated 47 points and placed all its runners within the top 20 out of 10 competing teams.
Head coach Andrew Basler commented on the team's performance: "We had a small group of runners toe the line at Greenfield Park today. Our group finished as the top collegiate program … Zach Moss ran his first race of the year and looked strong."
Sophomore Zach Moss led the Panthers, finishing third overall with a time of 27:29.20 in his season debut. Nathan Powley followed with an eighth-place finish, clocking in at 27:41.36.
Will Perez and Sam Blascyk also contributed to the team's effort, placing 13th (28:15.09) and 15th (28:31.03), respectively. Owen Lincicum rounded out Milwaukee's top five with a 19th-place finish in 28:52.71.
The Panthers are scheduled to compete next at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois, on Friday, October 17.
