74 percent of applicants to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 79 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Milwaukee enrolled 27,012 students in fall 2018, including 22,337 in undergraduate and 4,675 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Wisconsin, and 12 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (67 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (12 percent).

The school admitted 74 percent of the 11,879 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 46 percent enrolled.
