With viewership on the rise and support increasing as the Brewers' postseason wrapped up, fans from the lowest to highest levels were cheering on the Brewers in their playoffs against the Atlanta Braves.
Even Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) was getting in on the excitement ahead of the four-game series that say the Brewers fall to the Braves.
"#ThisIsMyCrew and this is our time. Good luck in the postseason @Brewers! #ClawsUpMKE," Baldwin posted to Twitter.
Viewership of Brewers' games was up 22% this season over 2020, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal. Yet, the audience was still smaller than the 2019 season.
The Brewers had a strong season going into the playoffs, according to BreCrewBall.com, with hopes that their comparable home vs. away stats meant they could perform well against the Braves. Yet, it wasn't to be.
Things started out promising for Milwaukee in Game One against the Braves, with the Brewers taking the lead 2-0 in the seventh inning, and the Braves unable to overcome that lead in the eighth. Atlanta pushed ahead in Games Two and Three though, beating Milwaukee 3-0 both times.
It all came to a head in the final game of the series on Oct. 12, with no runs until the fourth inning. From there, both teams scored double runs in the fourth and fifth, leading to a 4-4 tie that held all the way into the bottom of the eighth, when the Braves were able to take the lead 5-4, securing them the win.
