Brian Schimming, Chairman of the Wisconsin GOP, has taken a strong stance against President Biden's economic policies, arguing that they have negatively impacted Wisconsin's GDP and placed additional financial strain on families. These comments were made in response to Biden's recent visit to Milwaukee, where he emphasized racial disparities and reaffirmed his commitment to marginalized communities.

Schimming was quoted as saying, "From higher costs and lower wages to three consecutive quarters of declining GDP in Wisconsin, Bidenomics have failed working families". He further added, "No amount of campaigning can erase the disastrous impact of the Administration’s policies on Wisconsinites."

In a press release issued by the Wisconsin GOP (WisGOP), four statistics were highlighted to demonstrate the economic difficulties faced by Wisconsin residents under the Biden Administration. These included a consistent decrease in Wisconsin's GDP over three quarters, an increase of $10,000 in the cost of maintaining a standard of living since January 2021, a dramatic 90% rise in mortgage payments for new homes, and reports indicating that eight out of ten Americans are dealing with similar or increased household debt compared to last year.

Fox 6 News reported on President Biden's recent engagement at the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce - his third visit to the state this year. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson stated: "There’s more to do. I think the message is resonating, and the story needs to be told." The news outlet also noted that the Black vote is expected to play a crucial role in the 2024 general election, with Wisconsin predicted as one of four swing states pivotal for both parties.

According to Fox 6 News again, Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) commented: "One economic study said that about $10,000 is what is costing Wisconsin families just to maintain their standard of living from what it was in January 2021 when President Biden took office. One statistic I like using is that $1 you held at the start of the Biden administration is now worth 85 cents, so even though inflation is down that damage has been done. It is permanent. Wages aren't keeping up with the Biden inflation."

As per Ballotpedia, in the 2020 presidential election, Biden won Wisconsin by a margin of 0.63% over Trump. Prior to this victory, Wisconsin had favored Democratic candidates in elections from 2000 to 2012 but shifted its support to Trump in 2016, where he received 47.2% of the vote against Hillary Clinton's 46.5%, with other candidates securing smaller percentages.
