The Milwaukee volleyball team has earned Team Academic Award Honor Roll status for the sixth consecutive season, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday afternoon.

With this distinction, the Panthers are tied for the second-longest streak of being in the top 20 percent of all NCAA Division I programs in terms of team cumulative grade-point average. Milwaukee is one of just 52 programs nationwide at the DI level to be among this top tier.

Overall, Milwaukee joins 229 other programs to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award, including eight out of nine remaining programs in the Horizon League. Only Milwaukee and Robert Morris achieved Honor Roll status within their league.

The Team Academic Award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The Panthers recorded a team GPA of 3.855 in the fall semester and 3.803 in the spring term.

This marks the 18th time Milwaukee has been recognized with the Team Academic Award since its inception by AVCA following the 1992-93 academic year. The Panthers' first award came after the 1994-95 season, and they have now been recognized for six consecutive seasons.

Milwaukee's upcoming season will commence on Friday, August 30, when they host Stanford at 6:00 p.m. at the Klotsche Center. Season tickets and single-match tickets for this event are available at MKEPanthers.com/Tickets or by calling the Panther Ticket Office at 414-229-5886.
