Milwaukee Public Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of all students and staff during the school day. The district has implemented procedures for visitors to schools and for students who need early release for appointments.

Visitor Policy:

Every MPS school enforces protocols to ensure that only individuals with a valid purpose are allowed entry into buildings. All visitors must adhere to these procedures.

Early Release:

Students are expected to attend school for the entire day. If appointments must occur during school hours, specific procedures are in place.

For Parents/Guardians of Students in Grades K–8:

Schools cannot release children without a parent/guardian or an approved person present to pick them up. This measure ensures that only authorized persons are picking up children from school.

For Students in Grades 9–12:

High school students who need to leave school for an appointment must follow early dismissal procedures.

These protocols have been designed to maintain the safety of students and schools. Milwaukee Public Schools appreciates the cooperation of all students, families, and visitors.
