Jackie Kacmarynski, a 2007 alumna of Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC), has served as the Director of Health Services since July 2019. She is set to take on a new role as WLC's Dean of Student Services in July 2025.

Kacmarynski reflects on her time at WLC and acknowledges the significant influence of two mentors. "Jim Holman, former professor of education, was a mentor during my time as a student. He encouraged me to continue in both education and psychology," she said. She also credits Ryan Oertel, former vice president of student life, for encouraging her early career at WLC.

Kacmarynski highlights the importance of alumni and supporters' involvement with the college: "Pray for our WLC students, faculty, staff, and administrators." She encourages participation in the Health and Wellness Committee events throughout the academic year.

When asked about advice for freshmen, she recommends attending the WLC Variety Show. "It’s so fun to see the talents of the students," she remarked. She also notes that one area where WLC has seen growth is in involvement opportunities available to students.

Despite changes over time, Kacmarynski observes that "The WLC mission has not changed." The focus remains on preparing students academically and spiritually to be Christian servant leaders.

A personal anecdote from Kacmarynski includes her family's experience during the COVID-19 pandemic with their dog Milo. "Milo was ready to start visiting students on campus" after training as a therapy dog.

Reflecting on her favorite memories at WLC, she shares her experience as a Resident Assistant participating in the Variety Show with fellow RAs.
