Themus Fulks has officially joined the Milwaukee men's basketball team for the upcoming season, as announced by head coach Bart Lundy. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound point guard is transferring from Louisiana Lafayette after two successful seasons.
"We are so excited about the signing of Themus Fulks," said Lundy. "We get to bring in a high-character point guard who has led his team to the NCAA Tournament. He will be a fan favorite and has seen where our program wants to go in the near future and is excited to be a part of it."
Fulks started all 29 games last season, averaging 10.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game with a free throw shooting percentage of 77.3%. His standout performances included scoring a season-high 25 points against Toledo and recording ten assists at Texas State.
In his sophomore year, Fulks played all 34 games, contributing an average of 9.2 points, six assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game while leading his team to the NCAA Tournament. Notably, he scored a career-high of 23 points in the Sun Belt Championship game against South Alabama and provided eleven assists during an NCAA Tournament match against Tennessee.
Before joining Louisiana Lafayette, Fulks spent the 2021-22 season at Dodge City Community College under head coach Jake Williams—now an assistant at Milwaukee—where he helped lead the Conquistadors to significant achievements including setting a school record for wins with a 30-5 mark.
"Themus visited us two years ago...and chose Louisiana Lafayette as the next step for him in his career," Lundy stated. "He had two great years with them and has now seen the vision we have for him here and is choosing to become a Panther."
During his time at Dodge City Community College, Fulks was named NJCAA Second Team All-American after impressive averages of 17.1 points, 5.4 assists, and more per game while achieving numerous accolades including Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Newcomer of the Year.
Fulks began his collegiate career at South Carolina State University where he averaged notable statistics as well.
