The Milwaukee women's tennis team faced a narrow defeat against Northern Kentucky in the Horizon League Tournament held at Schwartz Tennis Center. The match concluded with a 4-3 scoreline in favor of Northern Kentucky, marking an end to Milwaukee's postseason run.

Throughout the day, the Panthers worked hard to close one-point gaps against the Norse but were ultimately outlasted in the final match. Head coach Mark Goldin expressed pride in his team's performance, stating, "I am very proud of the girls on a solid season. This was not the way we wanted it to end, but we enjoyed every moment."

The competition began with doubles matches where Laure Razet and Sara Simonova secured a 6-3 victory for Milwaukee at No. 2 doubles. However, Northern Kentucky leveled the score by winning at No. 1 and clinched a dramatic tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Northern Kentucky extended their lead with a win at No. 1 singles. Simonova responded by defeating Mariajose Hernandez with scores of 7-5, 6-0 at No. 4 singles for Milwaukee. Babette Burgersdijk further tied the overall match score by overcoming Darya Gneydina at No. 2 singles.

Northern Kentucky regained their advantage with a three-set win at No. 6 singles, but Razet kept Milwaukee's hopes alive by winning her match against Alyssa Cameron at No. 3 singles.

The decisive moment came when Angela Rinaldi from Northern Kentucky won her match against Emilia Durska with scores of 5-7, 7-5, and a tiebreaker of 7-6 (7-1), securing victory for her team.

Goldin looked forward to future seasons despite this loss: "We will miss the seniors next season but the program is excited to have them as lifelong friends."
