The Milwaukee men's and women's cross country teams have had two athletes named to the Horizon League's All-Academic Teams, as announced by the league office. Bryce Tome and Cailin Kinas received these honors for the 2023 season. This marks Tome's first selection and Kinas' second.

Tome has been recognized multiple times on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll during his time at Milwaukee, appearing six times across cross country and track seasons. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science, having graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in the same field. Tome maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA in his graduate courses.

This season, Tome set two records for Milwaukee: he recorded the program's fifth-best 8K time of 24:49.48 at the Horizon League Championship meet, finishing 16th overall; and he achieved a fourth-best 10K time of 31:30.8 at the NCAA regional meet, placing him 85th overall.

Kinas is also recognized for her academic achievements, earning her first All-Academic team selection in 2022. As a third-year nutritional sciences major, she has been on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll twice and has consistently maintained a 4.00 GPA throughout her studies.

In competition this year, Kinas secured three top-ten finishes including fifth place at the Illini Open. She was one of Milwaukee's top finishers at both the Horizon League Championship and NCAA Regional meets.

The Horizon League awards student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams across its championship sports based on criteria that include maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale and participating in half of their team's contests.
