Milwaukee is set to begin its Horizon League volleyball season with two matches against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in Michigan. The first match is scheduled for Friday at 5:00 p.m. (CT), followed by a Saturday matinee at 1:00 p.m. (CT). Coverage of the Friday night match will be available on ESPN+, with live stats for both matches accessible through MKEPanthers.com.

The Panthers, who have an eight-match winning streak against Oakland, are looking to continue their success after participating in the 'Chicago Cup' last weekend. Madi Malone led Milwaukee with 21 kills during those matches, while Kara Erdmann contributed defensively with 37 digs.

Oakland begins its conference play this week as well, hosting Milwaukee before traveling to face Cleveland State. Under head coach Krysta Rice, now in her third season, the Golden Grizzlies have secured four wins so far this season.

"Excluding the Spring 2021 COVID season, Milwaukee has won every conference opener dating back to the 2018 season," notes a statement from Milwaukee's athletic department.

Following these matches against Oakland, Milwaukee will visit Green Bay on October 1 before returning home for games against IU Indianapolis on October 4 and 5.

Madi Malone recently achieved her 1,000th career dig during a win over Iowa and aims to climb higher in the program's all-time records. Meanwhile, Kara Erdmann set a personal best with a 36-dig performance earlier this month.

The Panthers finished second nationally in kills during the regular season last year and aim to maintain their competitive edge throughout their challenging schedule this year.
