The Milwaukee volleyball team is set to conclude its 2024 regular season with two home matches against Cleveland State at the Klotsche Center. The games are scheduled for Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m., with the latter featuring Senior Day celebrations.
"Friday will be Alumni Day at 'The K'," according to the announcement, which also mentions that "the Panthers will then celebrate the six members of their senior class for the annual Senior Day celebrations."
Michelle Griffin-Wenzel and Matt Menzl will provide commentary on ESPN+ for Friday's and Saturday's matches, respectively. Live stats can be accessed via MKEPanthers.com.
Milwaukee enters this weekend on a seven-match winning streak, their longest since 2021. Recent victories include wins over Robert Morris, where Madi Malone led with 28 kills, supported by Natalie Schmitz and Alexis Lewis.
The Panthers' defense has been robust, highlighted by Kara Erdmann's 54 digs last weekend. Josie Johnson contributed significantly with both digs and assists. Milwaukee's blocking game was strong against RMU as well.
Cleveland State arrives in Milwaukee having won six of their last eight matches. They are currently third in the Horizon League standings but could slip to fourth depending on results this weekend.
Under head coach Chuck Voss, Cleveland State boasts a record of 19-8 overall and a Horizon League mark of 10-6. The Vikings lead the league in blocking and digging metrics.
Milwaukee aims to secure a top seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship with potential hosting rights contingent upon results against Cleveland State and Wright State’s performance against Oakland.
Saturday’s match will honor seniors Czhen Beneby, Tatum Catalano, Bri Geurts, Lakyn Graves, Alexis Lewis, and Madi Malone for their contributions to the program.
