The Milwaukee Panthers secured a narrow 69-65 victory over St. Thomas at the UWM Panther Arena on Sunday afternoon. Jamichael Stillwell led the team with a season-high 22 points, contributing eight rebounds and shooting 7-13 from the floor. The win marked a perfect 3-0 weekend for the Panthers, earning them the team title at the Cream City Challenge.
Aaron Franklin played a pivotal role off the bench, scoring 15 points and collecting eight rebounds. His performance was crucial in regaining control of the game during a tight second half. "It was a great game that could have gone either way," said head coach Bart Lundy. He praised St. Thomas as well-coached and tough opponents.
Themus Fulks also made significant contributions with nine points, eight assists, and five steals, including two critical free throws with just over ten seconds remaining in the game to secure Milwaukee's lead.
Drake Dobbs led St. Thomas with 16 points as one of three players reaching double figures for his team.
Reflecting on their performance, Lundy noted, "We played really well in the first half – they had trouble getting their footing." Despite some struggles from the free throw line where they shot just 59.1 percent (13-of-22), Milwaukee's defense held strong against St. Thomas's offense.
Milwaukee will next face UCF on Wednesday as they continue their season over Thanksgiving week.
