The Milwaukee women's tennis team faced a challenging day on Friday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. The Panthers, dealing with illness and injury, competed against both Wisconsin and Northern Illinois but were unable to secure victories.

Milwaukee (2-2) lost two matches, each by a score of 4-0, to the Badgers (2-1) and the Huskies (5-1). Each match concluded once a winner was determined.

"It has been a tough week with the girls getting sick and some injuries, but we have that next-up mentality and the team came out and competed hard today," said head coach Mark Goldin. "Although we didn't get the results we wanted, we will learn from the losses and use it to get better."

In their match against Northern Illinois, Milwaukee's doubles team of Emilia Durska and Giorgia Cavestro managed a win over Isabelle Righi and Lucia Yecora with a score of 6-2. However, they could not maintain momentum in singles play as Nadiia Konieva, Nikola Nikolajeva, and Durska were all tied in sets when Northern Illinois clinched victory.

The morning session against Wisconsin proved difficult for Milwaukee. The Badgers had recently defeated a top-ranked team in the country before facing Milwaukee.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are scheduled to compete against Marquette on Sunday at 11 a.m. "Tomorrow we will rest up and prepare for a battle against local rival Marquette on Sunday," Goldin added. "We can't wait."
