Anna Torres, a dedicated clerical staff member at Milwaukee Recreation and the Milwaukee City Conference, is set to retire. Her career with Milwaukee Public Schools began in 1982, where she initially provided clerical support in the departments of Administrative Services and Student Services. In 1985, she joined Milwaukee Recreation, taking on the task of managing an ink printing press.

Torres later transitioned to the role of front counter receptionist for the administration offices before assuming her current position as secretary for Interscholastic Athletics and Academics in 1997. Her responsibilities have included processing payroll, communicating with athletic directors, assisting with Spanish translations, and addressing various inquiries related to interscholastic sports, chess, debate, and forensics programs.

Reflecting on her time at Milwaukee Recreation, Torres expressed fulfillment: “My time at Milwaukee Recreation has been very fulfilling,” she said. “I’ve enjoyed working with our staff, building friendships, and helping our customers. Sometimes, I bump into people I’ve helped in the community - and that’s always a good feeling! Milwaukee Recreation has evolved a lot over the last 40-plus years, and I am thankful to be a part of it.”

The department acknowledges Anna Torres's significant contributions over her tenure and extends best wishes for her retirement.
