Approximately 100 teachers from various locations in Wisconsin are receiving honors and monetary awards from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation in 2025. Among these educators, seven teachers from Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) are recognized.
The teachers honored from MPS are Noelia Enriquez from ALBA, Ashley Fahey from Reagan High School, Toni Fink from Milwaukee Spanish Immersion, Lauren Jagemann from Golda Meir School, Kellie Krawczyk from Fernwood Montessori, Carrie Sullivan from Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts, and Alethea Sumbry-Cetnarowski from Ninety-Fifth Street School.
These educators, awarded with the Teacher Fellowship, were selected based on their leadership, service, and exceptional ability to inspire a love of learning in their students. Recipients of this recognition also receive a $6,000 award.
The Kohl Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship program, founded by Herb Kohl, a well-known philanthropist and businessman, started in 1990. Since then, the foundation has contributed over $40 million to Wisconsin educators, principals, students, and schools.
JoAnne Anton, President & CEO of Herb Kohl Philanthropies, expressed the foundation's commitment: “Part of Herb Kohl’s lasting legacy is his unwavering support for the profession that makes all others possible—education. He challenged us to continue celebrating and investing in educators who shape the future. By recognizing their hard work, achievements, and service, we hope to honor their impact, elevate their contributions within their communities, and inspire future generations to follow in their footsteps.”
