As the MLB and MLBPA are entangled in a lockout resulting from a disagreement over the collective bargaining agreement, many teams are offering refunds for opening day tickets, which has been canceled due to the lockout.
The Milwaukee Brewers are one such team. The organization is offering refunds for those that purchased tickets for the now-cancelled game, CBS 58 reported.
The team announced the availability of refunds in a statement on Twitter, saying, "We understand just how important it is to you that baseball resumes as soon as possible. In the meantime, we’ve simplified the refund process for canceled games. For more info or to get in touch with our tickets team, please visit brewers.com/update."
The Brewers are automatically giving full refunds for games slated to play April 1-6, but those with tickets for March 31 are asked to hang on to them. Tickets bought for March 31 will automatically be honored for the first game of the year in 2022, according to CBS 58.
Meanwhile, the owners and players are in a battle that has no end in sight. There are several sticking points that are holding up a potential deal between the two parties.
This is the second time in three years that opening day is not occurring as scheduled. The 2020 season was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, Channel 3000 reported.
