MPS students, families, staff, and community members have been invited to attend public meetings to share ideas about building use. The district is set to host five meetings as part of Year Two of the Strategic Plan and the ongoing Long-Range Facilities Master Plan.
According to a district announcement, "We encourage everyone, including non-MPS families, to offer opinions." The district also expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We look forward to your participation!"
The meetings will provide attendees with the opportunity to weigh in and provide feedback on the Long-Range Facilities Master Plan. Additionally, participants will have the chance to take a district Strategic Plan survey available through May 27, covering a wide range of topics.
The schedule for the upcoming meetings is as follows:
- Monday, May 13: 12:00–1:00 p.m. AND 5:30–6:30 p.m.—Virtual Meeting
- Wednesday, May 15: 5:30–7:00 p.m. at James Madison High School
- Monday, May 20: 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Hamilton High School
- Tuesday, May 21: 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Bay View High School
- Wednesday, May 22: 5:30–7:00 p.m. at Rufus King High School
The district emphasized that the information gathered at these meetings will play a crucial role in planning and decision-making for the next several years. The invitation extends to all interested parties, and the district is looking forward to seeing a strong turnout at the events.
