On May 11, Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) will celebrate its spring commencement exercises at the Recreation Complex - Time of Grace Center. The college is set to award diplomas to over 200 students from various academic programs, including traditional undergraduate, accelerated degree completion, and graduate students. The graduating class of 2024 comprises students from 17 states and Venezuela, representing 36 undergraduate majors and three master's programs.
The commencement ceremony will commence at 1:00 p.m., with admission strictly by ticket only. Unfortunately, the event has reached its capacity, and no tickets will be available at the door.
Professional photographs taken during the ceremony will be accessible on the photographer's website in the week following May 13.
Tom Plath, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs for International Paper, will deliver the keynote address. A member of WLC's Board of Regents' executive committee and a parent to a WLC alumnus, Plath has an extensive career background that spans education and corporate sectors.
Graduating senior Hans Rupnow was selected by faculty and peers to represent the student body as a speaker at commencement. Rupnow, who hails from Mankato, Minnesota, is set to graduate with a B.A. in secondary education, history, and broadfield social science. Following graduation, he plans to student teach at Menomonee Falls High School.
Erika Bahr, a WLC alumna from the class of 1991 with a degree in business administration currently serving as a controller with Delaware North Companies, will welcome new graduates into the alumni community.
Wisconsin Lutheran College continues its mission to prepare graduates as Christian servant leaders in their respective workplaces and communities.
