High school graduates are reminded that it is not too late to apply for financial aid for college and technical schools. The initial step involves completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application determines students' eligibility for grants and loans and is utilized by colleges nationwide to create each student's financial aid package.

Completing the FAFSA often reveals that college can be affordable through available grants and loans, thereby facilitating access to higher education or technical training. Families and students with questions about the FAFSA can seek assistance at an MPS College and Career Center. Three MPS high schools will host these centers throughout the summer, operating Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on June 19 and July 4.

MPS College and Career Centers provide support in filling out the FAFSA, exploring colleges, writing essays, and completing college applications. Both MPS and non-MPS students are welcome to contact any College & Career Center for guidance from a college and career advisor. For detailed information regarding locations, hours, and services of these centers, individuals can visit the MPS College & Career Centers page.

Students intending to complete the FAFSA should visit https://studentaid.gov/. It is important to use only this official website and avoid any sites that charge a fee.
