MPS students are participating in a unique event this summer during the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee. The students have been training for several months to greet visitors and assist with offering directions and answering questions about local restaurants, attractions, and Milwaukee landmarks.

The student ambassadors are stationed at The Pfister Hotel and the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. As part of their preparation, they participated in a scavenger hunt downtown to learn about various locations, enjoyed a cruise on the Milwaukee River, and spent time learning about the city's history.

The group expressed excitement about being part of a national event and possibly seeing dignitaries at the hotels. Although initially nervous on their first day, they looked forward to meeting people from across the country and sharing highlights of Milwaukee.

Marcus Corporation, an MPS partner, helped direct the ambassadorships and designed the training activities. Students are gaining skills in public speaking, etiquette, hospitality, and learning more about the democratic process and the impact of the convention. Visit Milwaukee has also partnered to support students in representing the city.

"MPS is proud of our student ambassadors!"
