Community members of all ages and abilities are invited to join Milwaukee Recreation this season for a variety of festive and affordable fall activities. From pumpkin carving to Halloween celebrations, several events are planned.

Milwaukee Recreation is celebrating 31 years of Halloween Glen with the theme "Halloween Glen: Myths & Mysteries." Attendees will follow a trail of clues to explore various myths and mysteries. Actors will present interactive and educational skits at eight decorated stations at Hawthorn Glen, Milwaukee Recreation’s 23-acre nature center. Following the hike, families can participate in fall-themed activities.

A Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration will take place at the OASIS, featuring traditional foods, beverages, and entertainment by a mariachi band.

The annual Twilight & Treat family celebration will be hosted at two Twilight Centers. Activities include trick-or-treating, carnival games, arts and crafts, and other enrichment activities. No registration is required.

Additionally, the eighth annual Halloween-themed kickball tournament encourages costumes with awards for first and second place teams as well as best costume. Teams must have at least 10 players, including a minimum of four women. All participants must be at least 18 years old.

Milwaukee Recreation is also marking five years of Mother & Son Superhero Night in 2024. The event features games, crafts, snacks, Superhero Training activities, and photo opportunities at prop stations.
