The undergraduate nursing program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) has again been recognized among the top programs in the nation, according to the 2025 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

UWM’s bachelor’s in nursing program secured the No. 74 spot out of nearly 700 programs evaluated across the country.

In addition to nursing, three other undergraduate programs at UWM – business, psychology, and computer science – were ranked within the top 30% of universities nationwide. The economics program also performed well, placing within the top 40%.

Overall, UWM improved its standing by climbing 17 positions in the rankings of national universities.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of U.S. News publishing its rankings. The purpose of these rankings is to offer prospective students and their families insights into the comparative merits of various undergraduate programs across the United States.

The rankings are based on an assessment of 17 key measures, which include graduation rates, graduate indebtedness, and post-graduate earnings.
