Aubrey Anderson and Lucas Picco have been recognized as the Horizon League Cross Country Runners of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office.

Anderson achieved a significant performance for the Panthers at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite, securing 13th place in a field of 109 participants. She completed the 8K race with a season-best time of 24:28.0, narrowly missing her career-best by under nine seconds and finishing eleven seconds away from breaking into the top ten.

"Anderson is the first Panther to win Women's Runner of the Week this season," stated a representative from the league office.

Lucas Picco also demonstrated notable achievement at the same event, finishing in 12th place out of 160 competitors in the 8K race. His time of 26:25.2 established a new personal record for him as a freshman. In addition to his recognition as Runner of the Week, Picco was named Horizon League Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Week after being only the second first-year participant to finish in Cuba City.

"Picco is the second Panther to win Men's Runner of the Week this season, joining Aidan Sodemann, who won the award on September 12," added another statement from officials.
