The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is reaching out to its community, including students, faculty, staff, business leaders, and local residents, to participate in listening sessions for the search for a new chancellor. The sessions are organized by the Universities of Wisconsin Search and Screen Committee. They aim to gather input on the desired qualities, skills, and vision for UWM's next leader.
The feedback collected will guide the committee in selecting candidates who align with UWM's values and mission of conducting world-class research while ensuring access to education for students from diverse backgrounds. Community involvement is considered crucial to capture the wide range of perspectives within the university.
Specific sessions are scheduled for different stakeholder groups, but attendance is open to all interested parties. Virtual participation via Zoom is available for those unable to attend in person.
Scheduled listening sessions include:
- Students: Monday, Nov. 18 from 3-4 p.m., Student Union Ballroom
- Faculty and instructional academic staff: Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 9-10 a.m., Helene Zelazo Center
- Local business leaders and community members: Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Helene Zelazo Center
