National School Social Work Week is set to take place from March 2 to March 8, 2025. This period serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the vital role of school social workers in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS).

The School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) has chosen the theme "Unite to Ignite: Celebrating our Impact" for this year's observance. The theme highlights the importance of collaboration and connection in social work, emphasizing how social workers unite different voices and perspectives to ignite change through their dedication to social justice and human rights.

MPS school social workers dedicate numerous hours to understanding the challenges faced by children and families. Their efforts in uniting students, families, and community organizations create a supportive network that drives positive change. They play a crucial role in providing hope and unity, especially in a world that can often feel divided.

In MPS, school social workers offer services such as counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, behavior intervention, family support, and promoting equity and social justice. They also conduct home visits and connect students with community resources while collaborating with school staff and community partners.

To all MPS school social workers: your passion and commitment are greatly appreciated. Your work inspires individuals and communities towards a brighter future filled with compassion and understanding.
