Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) have requested records from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) regarding its preparedness and response to the Pacific Palisades wildfires that occurred in January 2025.

The senators’ letter seeks information as part of an ongoing congressional investigation into the wildfire, which caused significant property damage and loss of life in Los Angeles. The request to LADWP follows previous letters sent last month to former Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley and interim Chief Ronnie Villanueva about the fire department’s actions during the incident.

"The full text of the letter can be found here."

Ron Johnson has a history of electoral success in Wisconsin, having defeated Mandela Barnes in 2022 with 50.4% of the vote compared to Barnes' 49.4%. In earlier elections, Johnson won against Russ Feingold in both 2016 and 2010, securing 50.2% and 51.9% of votes respectively.
