Milwaukee School District recently issued the following announcement.
Join us at the 2021 Juneteenth Day Celebration on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
We will be on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive between West Concordia Avenue and West Auer Avenue.
Juneteenth is a cultural celebration emphasizing education and the achievements of African Americans. Juneteenth is the nation’s oldest commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, and the Milwaukee celebration is one of the oldest in the country. It began in 1971.
