UWM will celebrate the powerful impact the university has on the region during the fourth annual 414 for UWM Giving Days, April 14-16. The celebration will kick off with a Campus Activities Board-sponsored 414 Day gathering on Spaights Plaza on Sunday, April 14, from 1 to 3 p.m.
During this time, all alumni and friends of UWM are encouraged to make a gift to various causes including the Panther Pathways Scholarship Fund, the Ignite Fund, or any other UWM school, college, or program. The wrap-up celebration will take place on April 16 at the UWM Student Union Concourse from noon to 2 p.m., featuring music, food, games, crafts, and photo opportunities.
Signing up to be a 414 for UWM ambassador is a way to help spread the word and raise support for UWM. Additionally, making a gift on the day of giving is a way to contribute to the total raised.
One enthusiastic alumnus, Matt Mahoney (’10 BBA Marketing and Finance, ’18 MBA), expressed his pride in supporting UWM on #414forUWM day of giving, emphasizing that every dollar helps. Mahoney, along with his wife, Rachel Mahoney (’11 BA Psychology, ’13 MSW Social Work), were members of the UWM swimming and diving team.
Lead donors have issued challenges or promised to match gifts made to specific areas, with a full list of opportunities set to be revealed on April 10 at uwm414day.org.
