The National Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of School Administrators have designated the first week of April as a time to express gratitude towards assistant principals across the country. This week, the hard work and dedication of assistant principals are being recognized and celebrated.

"The assistant principals at my child’s school are workhorses who are continually filling gaps and trying to stay one step ahead,” shared a district parent. “The principal would be overwhelmed without them.”

Assistant principals play a crucial role in schools, serving in various capacities to motivate students, coach teachers, and create a positive learning environment. They are instrumental in driving academic achievement, ensuring school safety, supporting families, overseeing extracurricular activities, and promoting good attendance.

In acknowledgment of their significant contributions, MPS expresses gratitude towards assistant principals, recognizing them as the unsung heroes who support students and teachers while keeping schools running smoothly. This week presents an excellent opportunity for everyone to thank and appreciate the assistant principals who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Thank you to all assistant principals for your dedication and commitment to the betterment of our schools.
