Milwaukee, Apr 25 2024 - High school juniors attending any MPS school can now simplify their college application process by utilizing Milwaukee Direct Admit, an initiative that allows them to apply to Milwaukee’s two largest colleges in less than five minutes at no cost.

The initiative is part of the M3 partnership, a collaboration between Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM) aimed at transforming the future of education in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Direct Admit streamlines the application process by connecting a student’s MPS transcript directly to the schools of their choice, as explained by a statement: "Through a streamlined online application, Milwaukee Direct Admit will connect a student’s MPS transcript directly to the schools of their choice. The application is free and does not require attachments, an essay, or letters of recommendation. This method will help students—especially first-generation college applicants—have better access to opportunities after graduation."

Applying through Milwaukee Direct Admit is simple, requiring only the student’s name and MPS student ID number, with the option to apply to MATC or UWM, or both. The stress-free process guarantees acceptance to at least one of the selected schools.

Successful applicants will hear back from their chosen schools within a month and receive acceptance notifications by September 2024. Accepted candidates must officially accept their offer and complete necessary forms, with enrollment at MATC or UWM contingent upon graduating from high school in the spring or summer of their senior year.

The application deadline for Milwaukee Direct Admit is June 14, 2024. Families seeking assistance can visit mpsmke.com/directadmit, while students are encouraged to reach out to their school counselor or College and Career Center staff for support.
