The community is preparing for the 2024-25 Milwaukee City Conference high school athletics season. The first day of practice is imminent, with game action following soon after. Student-athletes, MCC families, staff, and community members can find more information below.

Registration is currently open for the fall high school athletics season. Fall sports include a variety of activities that allow students to compete at a high level, build friendships, develop new skills, and enhance their resumes.

Registration for winter sports—wrestling, boys swim, boys basketball, and girls basketball—and spring sports—girls soccer, boys golf, boys tennis, boys soccer, softball, baseball, and boys & girls track & field—will open later in the school year.

Milwaukee Public Schools has partnered with Concentra to offer free sports physicals for MPS high school student-athletes. Detailed information regarding these free physicals can be found in a specific document provided by the schools.

Several Concentra Clinics will provide free sports physicals for student-athletes. Additionally, through a partnership with Children's Wisconsin, athletic trainers will be available to provide services throughout the 2024-25 season.

This summer features three informational meetings for student-athletes and families. These sessions will cover topics such as concussions, nutrition, hydration, recovery best practices and more. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions during each session. Each meeting is free to attend; registration can be completed online.

Milwaukee Recreation is also hosting multiple officials clinics this summer. Individuals interested in becoming officials or learning from qualified leaders in the field are encouraged to attend these clinics.

For further information about both officials clinics and other related inquiries, contact Steve Wells Jr., MPS Interscholastic Athletics & Academics Supervisor at wellsje@milwaukee.k12.wi.us.
