Milwaukee Recreation's mountain bike team, MKE MTB, began the 2024 season with a strong performance at the Minooka Park race in Waukesha, Wisconsin, held from September 13-15.

Tate Endress, an eighth-grade student from Fernwood Montessori School, secured first place in his division of 67 eighth-grade boys racers. Endress completed the race with a time of 24:36, nearly a full minute ahead of the second-place finisher.

Fifteen racers represented Milwaukee Recreation's composite team at Minooka Park. The team finished 10th among the 39 competing Division 2 teams.

MKE MTB is a program designed to engage Milwaukee’s youth in mountain biking. The joint team practices at Riverside and MacDowell sites, providing middle school and high school students with opportunities to learn the sport and create a positive environment with peers and mentors. MKE MTB welcomes riders of all skill levels to participate, bringing together expert mountain bikers and rookie racers.
