Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) is now accepting high school enrollment applications for the 2025-26 academic year until November 4, 2024. Eighth-grade students and their families are encouraged to explore nearly 30 high school options within the district, which cater to various interests and career goals including technology, engineering, arts, music, agriculture, college prep, construction, culinary arts, and skilled trades.

The district urges students in grade 8 to begin researching schools immediately to make informed decisions for this significant transition. Information on selecting a suitable high school can be found on the district website under "How to Select a School." The website also provides details on open house events and access to the online enrollment form. Early enrollment is recommended as some schools reach capacity quickly.

Applications are submitted through a brief online form. Families new to MPS must provide the student's 7th-grade report card, attendance record from 7th grade, and standardized test scores. Current MPS eighth-graders are exempt from uploading these documents but must submit an essay based on a reading selection; this requirement will be completed in school during October.

For additional information, contact the Department of Student Services at (414) 475-8159.
