Craig Swiontek, a 1995 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC), has been serving as the Director of Graduate and Transfer Admission since June 1997. Swiontek enjoys working closely with prospective students and collaborating with faculty and staff to guide students in course planning.

Reflecting on his time at WLC, Swiontek mentions Joel Mischke as a significant influence. "The late, great Joel Mischke... cared deeply about WLC students and could always make them smile - even in difficult times," he recalls. Mischke's ability to understand people and motivate them was noteworthy.

Swiontek encourages alumni and supporters to stay connected with the college. "Be proud of your alma mater and spread the word!" he advises, inviting them to revisit the campus for various events.

He suggests that freshmen should experience climbing the bell tower during their time at WLC, describing it as "a rite of passage."

Swiontek notes significant growth in WLC's academic offerings, providing more career opportunities for students. The addition of a commuter parking structure is also highlighted as a benefit.

Despite changes, some aspects remain constant at WLC. Swiontek observes that many student last names are familiar from previous generations, indicating a strong legacy within families.

Sharing a personal anecdote, Swiontek reveals that he met his wife Mandy at WLC, and their sons have followed in their footsteps by attending the college.

A memorable story from his college days involves an unconventional speech where he wrestled a stuffed Gumby doll in class. The incident ended humorously with torn pants and scattered stuffing but did not earn him top marks.
