Representative Barbara Dittrich recently shared a series of tweets highlighting significant events and announcements. The posts cover a range of topics from recreational opportunities in Wisconsin to historical commemorations and legislative milestones.

On June 6, 2025, Rep. Dittrich announced "Wisconsin's next Free Fun Weekend is this Saturday and Sunday! You can enjoy all of Wisconsin's state parks and natural resources without a license or fee. This weekend only!" The initiative allows residents and visitors to access state parks without any cost, promoting outdoor activities.

In another tweet on the same day, she commemorated the anniversary of D-Day, stating "On this day, 81 years ago, Operation Overlord commenced at 6:30 AM local time along 60 miles of shoreline of Normandy, France. Over 4,000 American lives, most under the age of 20, were lost in the storming of Omaha and Utah beaches. The liberating Allies suffered at least 10,000." Her post pays tribute to the sacrifices made during this pivotal World War II operation.

Later that day, Rep. Dittrich also celebrated a landmark in women's rights by acknowledging "As we head into the weekend, I want to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of #TitleIX, securing rights for women like me and my daughters by prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded programs!" Title IX has been instrumental in advancing gender equality in education and sports.

Additional information for Step 3: Title IX was passed as part of the Education Amendments Act on June 23, 1972.
